About
Hi, I’m Andrew Walton. I’m 21 and currently reside in Winnipeg, Canada. I don’t have a particular career, though I have spent time as a guitar teacher, gigging musician, and movie extra. I’ve completed 3 years at the University of Manitoba Faculty of Music toward a degree in Jazz Performance (guitar). In 2008 I began having muscle problems with my arms, which eventually prevented me from practicing the guitar. As a result I’ve been forced to develop new strategies to learn my craft, as well as explore other areas of interest which may contribute to making a living.
I constantly seek creative outlets. I enjoy challenging conventional wisdom and experimenting with ideas. Nonconformity for it’s own sake doesn’t resonate with me, but it can be a very useful way to learn things about yourself and the world. I enjoy making music, drawing, writing, and challenging my body through sport. I’ve been surfing in Hawaii and snowboarding in the Rocky Mountains. I enjoy taking a seemingly complex or difficult task, breaking it down, and making it simple. I believe with an appropriate shift in thinking, any problem we have can be solved in a straightforward, methodical manner.
My resume includes:
-holding my breath for 4 minutes 30 seconds (2009)
-juggling a soccer ball over 1000 times (2010)
-running a 6 minute mile (2004)
-numerous movie appearances as an extra, one speaking role (2000-present)
